Port Angeles is at the north end of Washington State and is fairly busy fishing port. This is also where the ferry crosses over to Victoria. Our biggest concern for the day was getting onto this ferry so we made certain that we got to the dock early. Having checked in at the dock and parking the vehicle in our designated spot Wendi and I spent a couple of hours roaming around the town checking out its many antique shops. The weather was nice for walking around and we saw a few interesting things - we also saw a lot of junk too.
The hour and a half trip to Victoria was uneventful (thank goodness) and we arrived in Victoria in some very nice weather. Our intention was to get right out of Victoria today and get onto Salt Spring Island to our friend's place there. We would be returning to Victoria at a later date for a visit.
We drove up to Sidney which is just north of Victoria and attempted to get in touch with Bill Rickard on Salt Spring Island. After many unsuccessful attempts to confirm us coming over to his house we gave up and got a motel room near Sidney. We didn't want to take the trailer over to the island and not have a campsite to set up in and we had no idea what happened to Bill until much later in the day so we decided to keep is simple (we like simple a lot) and head over to the island tomorrow. It was a lazy evening of laying around and watching the TV.
