We stayed in Parma for 2 nights with Italian friends Nicola & Giulia who we've known for years but never met....long story. They live in a historic 16th century apartment which even has frescos on the ceiling in the lounge. Their district only has vehicle access for local residents so we had to park our car in a car park. We were treated to great traditional italian food and wine at home and at one of their favourite restaurants. On Sunday we went ot Nics Mums place in the country, a beautifull villa on 15 hectares of fruit trees and pasture with wild flowers, berries etc. Once again home made pasta in a chicken broth followed by the veges and the gay rooster who lost his head for doing a line with another rooster instead of the chooks. Giulia had pre-arranged a guided tour of their ancient city buildings, sadly the guide didn't speak english. Two sundays in a row in church though.

Good!
Good to see you've finally met these great friends of yours. I was kind of disappointed not to hear the story though.
