BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park

We are back in the working mode, and LOV'N it. Yes I know it sounds crazy, but we were ready to get stuck into something challenging again.  We have been at BIG4 Deniliquin Park almost 10 weeks now and have learnt so much in such a short time.

The weather here seems to be similar to San Diego, except the seasons are opposite.  Our warmer weather begins around November with Summer in full swing by the middle of December. The mornings are starting to get cool now.  Summer average temperature is 32C/90F. Spring and Autumn average 24C/75F and Winter averages about 15C/59F.

From Cristmas time to the end of January, and the Easter School Holidays are the 2 busiest times of the year with the park completely booked out months in advance.  The rest of the year is busy during school holidays, long weekends and most of Summer.  A lot of people stay here for the water skiing and fishing.

In our 1st 10 weeks here, we had a wedding ceremony, Open Park Day (for the locals), a busy  Easter period, TV and Newspaper advertising campaigns and our first Conference Package (including catering and accommodation) for the park.  I absolutely love the variety of work and learning every day.  Our biggest challenge now is to keep the park busy over the Winter months.

Wayne is staying very busy on the outside keeping the grounds maintained, and cabin maintenance while doing all kinds of jobs from removing tree limbs to fixing DVD players.  He is enjoying it as well. The only part he doesn't enjoy is having to tell some people to keep their noise level down at 11pm (quiet time).  He does it well though, considering it is not his favourite job in the park.

We have done a few small trips away from the park on our days off, but mostly to nearby towns for various things to set-up home again.

Two weeks ago we had 3 days off and went down to Bright, a beautiful little town at the foothills of Mt. Hotham. We stayed at the local BIG4 Park and had 2 full days doing some of the  local walks along the Ovens River, through town, and up to a brewery.  On the way home we went on a detour to Mt. Beauty for lunch -  another nice spot before heading back to work.

Glad you both are enjoying your job there. Making your own beer Wayne, hope it tastes good. maybe someday we shall share a drink together again. Still stuck in Bundaberg. Not sure when we will be allowed to leave again. Have tried once and didn't get very far. Don't work too hard and remember that you need a drink to remove the stress of some tenants. But you will do well anyway. Keep safe and work well.

I am so jealous - as far out of the Rat Race as you can go, it appears! And water-skiing in the back garden. I hate you both!
