As you can see we are still using the travel pod website to keep friends and family updated on what we are doing and where we are, as it is the easiest way to stay in touch and keep a journal for ourselves at the same time. We had a great time back in California with our family and friends. The 8 weeks just seemed to fly by so quickly. We rented a beautiful fully furnished 2 bedroom condo in Rancho Bernardo. It worked out really well for us, as we were only 15 minutes away from the kids. Most of our time was spent with our 4 grand-kids. We really got to know our 2 youngest grand-daughters- Alexis and Melanie very well and was able to spend a lot of time with them and of course with Matthew and Mackenzie when they weren't at school. I have included some of our favourite photos of them during the 8 weeks. We didn't catch up with everyone on this trip, but will try on the next go round.

We arrived back in Australia (Melbourne) on January 28th 2010 and had two job interviews set up for the next couple of days. We have accepted a job as Assistant Managers at BIG4 Deniliquin Paringa Holiday Park http://deniliquin-paringa-holiday-park.nsw.big4.com.au  and start work on Monday 15th February. We are both really looking forward to it. The park is about 4 hours North of Melbourne on the Edward river. As we had 8 days free before work was to begin, we decided to head across to Tasmania on the boat to see some of my family over there.

The weather was perfect in Tassie, with warm sunny days. We went fishing a couple of times, but didn't catch anything, we did a couple of hikes including the Nut at Stanley. I also did a leisurely 17 km bike ride with my sister Diane around Shearwater and Squeaky Point. We got to meet 2 new grand-nieces, Annika and Isabella which was nice. Again we didn't see all our friends in Tassie, and will have to catch them on the next go round too.

Hey Guys, You're Back!!! That's SO awesome that you've got work together in the Caravan Park. You two will be so great at that, what lucky people staying there, not to mention the people who hired you....they couldn't have found a more brilliant, hard-working, trustworthy and friendly couple to run their park for them - I hope they appreciate what they've got!
The photos of the kids are just brilliant, so glad you got time with them.
Thanks for keeping us updated, always great to hear how you're getting on!
Love LJx

It was great fun seeing you guys while you were here! I knew you'd get the job at the RV park. Wendy is sooo charming. Happy birthday Wayne!! Sierra turned 16. Since she lettered in Tennis this year we gave her a lettermans jacket. Delaney made Honor Role at school.
I am two weeks into my new job. I seem to be holding my own. Rod is sick right now buy he's working. I don't know if he has had any contact with your property manager.
We are leaving for Carlsbad State Beach tomorrow and we'll be gone through Thursday.

Ta ta for now. Keep living the dream!
Love, Desi

Welcome back to Australia! Your 8 weeks in the US went by quickly. What a great experience you had with your grandchildren. So cute! Sorry we were unable to meet. Perhaps our paths will cross in the future. Best of luck with your new jobs. They're tailor made for you with all your RV resort experience. We'll look forward to future entries in your travel log. Our stay in the Rio Grande Valley as "Winter Texans" is going by quickly. Everything is bilingual. At times we feel like we're in Mexico. Will head up to Canada along the East coast some time in April. Wishing you a beautiful Fall! Nancy and Gary
