You can talk to God and listen to his casual reply - John Denver
I have been in nine countries and 42 states, including Hawaii and Alaska. I have not seen anything anywhere that is as impressive as Yosemite. When we first got in and were staring at the canyons in awe, Don looked at me and said, "Of all of the churches I have been to- this one is my favorite". I'll have to admit that I'm in total agreement on that.
When you visit, try to enter in the southern entrance and go in on 41. When you come through the tunnel, you are immediately in Ansel Adams Land. El Capitan on your left, Half Dome on your right and all the waterfalls and splendor you could ever ask for in every direction. Of all of the national parks we have been to, this was the most impressive- by a wide margin.
We had a dickens of a time getting there though. We were in Lake Tahoe and had to travel back west and south to enter in the west entrance. Originally, we expected 100 miles and it turned out to be more than 200 and the road snaked around mountain after mountain. Throw in a few campers and motor homes and you had some really, really slow travel. I thought to myself at one point- "this place better be good". It was. Gary stated out loud that he wasn't sure that the beauty of Yosemite was worth the cost to get there. It was.
Turns out, we weren't the only ones that thought that going to Yosemite would be a good idea today. Everybody else in California and neighboring states had the same idea. The place was like Disneyworld, only colder.
I try my best to be add something humorous with these posts but I just asked Gary at dinner if he could remember anything funny that happened. Neither of us could so I'll leave you with this:
A horse walks into a bar, right?... Bartender says "Hey Pal, why the long face?'
The pictures tell the story better tonight than I ever could. Enjoy your time at church...

Wayne, Paula's been following your post daily, and I caught up this morning! You should be a writer! I've really enjoyed your posts and have been reading them outloud to my hubby! What a wonderful way to
celebrate your 50th!!! Ride safe!
Thank you, Paula. I'm glad you're enjoying them. Good to hear from you.
OK Wayne...
you haven't seen us in 30ish years, and still can't tell us apart!!!! lol
I'm PAM.!!
Yosemite is an absolutely amazing place - must go there!
Looks amazing. I feel like I've been on vacation.
Sounds like all is well for you guys!
Question - it has been about a week since the blog updated total miles....???
It is 100 degrees in Jax today (literally) - ENJOY the temperate weather (and bring it back with you)!
Ooops, Pam. I realized I did that while I was riding today. Sorry about that. Thanks to both of you for reading- and good to hear from you.
Barb, I will update mileage tomorrow
If only I had access to a computer around the time you went! I could've gotten you a free burger in the park! I have a friend who's working at the burger joint in Yosemite this summer. Oh well, maybe next time. Great pics btw
