On the morning of the 28th April Miriam & Bernie went down to the bus station to see about a night bus however the night buses only run on Mondays so they bought tickets for the following day. It was not until later that day that Miriam realised that they sold us tickets for the 27th. Miriam & myself headed back down there & after 4 hours of them pulling our chains & messing us around they finally changed the tickets. It is just the way ibn Bolivia sometimes. Leonie also got to the doctors to find out that she had dengue fever so it was probably a good thing that she was having another days rest before a 19 hour bus ride. The next day we heard from some locals that there were protests along the road from Rurre to La Paz & they were not letting anyone through. We went back to the bus station & for some reason the company changed our tickets to the following day no problems. Not sure what the big fuss was the previous day. By the afternoon we ended up buying the last flights with TAM airline to ensure that we would get to La Paz on the 30th as some of these protests can last for days & we did not fancy camping on the roadside. We left it to tomorrow to try to get our money back from the bus tickets.
