Hi

We had a little bit of  a sleep in today and took advantage of it. Its been a great start as the breakfast was cooked and lovely filling us for the exciting day we have ahead of us.

At 9.30 we paid for an additional optional Scenic Lake Cruise Tour on Lake Lucerne and while it may have been expensive, it was well worth it. The weather was fine but had a chill in the wind and we were on the boat just over an hour. The cost was US$29. We were given a guided tour across a ripple less lake which was very similar to Lake Taupo, but the house, castles, farms, bays and panoramic views were terrific.

It was great and the boat was fairly full. About 18 of our tour went on it.

As soon as we finished that we were away on another additional tour for 70 dollars US. About 32 came on this tour and it was to Switzerland's highest mountain - Mount Titlis. Strange name i know and i still don't know why.

We went by coach to the Alpine Engelberg Region and had to go up 10,000feet where there is snow all the year around. Yes - even in the summer. The first part of the trip is by Cable car which takes up to 6 persons up to 6,000 feet. Very similar to the one at Rotorua. The
second car takes about 25 persons and this takes you up to 10,000 feet. This car is a Worlds and they call it the Titlis - Rotair and it is a revolving cable car. The floor moves the 360 degrees as you are going up and allows you to get fantastic views all round the car as it moves up.

At the 10,000 foot mark there are number of building with floors for souvenirs, Restaurant, toilet  areas, eating deck, an ice cave which is great and room to walk onto the mountain and snow. The time went so fast and we all thought it was great.

Jackie and i had an American hotdog and beer and hot chocolate and talked with an American and two Kenyans for about 10 minutes while we were eating.
Of course we had a snow fight and took many photos.

All this time the weather was fantastic and the guides said they had never seen it as lovely as this. The gods were certainly smiling on us.

We finally started coming back to Lucerne about 3.15pm and then i went to the Internet shop to catch up on things while (yes - you guessed it) Jackie and the women were back around the shops.n
