Where I stayed
Chattai Beach Huts Palolem
We found a local restaurant/bar which was our favourite "local" hang out... It was called "Big Bananas", Veru and Lloyd were the main guys that worked there, among a few others, they were all awesome people! Also we met Amanda who had been coming back to Palolem every year was also here at the time, So we spent most of our days relaxing with these guys.
At night time we sometimes did some fire spinning outside the bar to try and attract more customers to "Big Bananas", In return we got a few extra "perks" from them ^_^...
I am not sure where we went, but i remember Veru saying there was a local festival happening in a local village, so we went out to explore, these are some of the pictures that i took of it, There was alot of girls doing their dances, and then a parade with vehicles and big "plaster models" on...
Here is a video of the festival, sorry the editing was really bad, At beginning of my trip i was filming useless things, I now have more experience in whats "worth" filming hehehe...
Right, Onto... the "Monk",
Well we met Shane at the beginning of our trip in Goa airport, Interestingly enough, he did Yoga and he knew someone that had been here many years and practised it, He said he would introduce me to him... So we went the next day at 6am (Sunrise)....
So,anyway his name was "Gosh", he was quite an elderly person and lived in the north most part of the beach in a secluded part, It was a bit further inland and he home was all made of "natural things". He lived in an opening in the forest, using trees as his canopy and shelter, the floor and some mats as his bed, Tree trunks for book marks, it was really surreal to see this...
He basically lives off most the things around him , though he buys a few basic supplies from the nearby town, he usual casual dress was a thong (home made), and he lived there with his partner, which she was also a "nature" person and seemed quite a bit younger than him..
Gosh, was basically a "Hippy traveller" in his time, and learnt various things like Taiji (Tai Chi), Chi Gung, Reiki (Spiritual Healing), Crystal healing and "Go Chi" (His own form), and im sure various other things..
So i began to do Yoga with him on a daily basis in the early mornings at sunrise, i was eventually going to do a 10 day "retreat" with him, deeper in the forest, where you spent all the time together, but unfortunately i never got round to doing this, I think back, and regret not taking the opportunity...
But still it was great to be able to meet such a person!! =P
Then Onwards Next Would Be To Hampi!!
