So we had bought our train tickets for around 270Rs, to get to Hospet,

Which was the closest train station to Hampi,
Travelling on the train, you could really see the change of scenery when you were coming close to Hampi, It was famous for its mix of rocks and greenery, there are some brilliant views to be had of lakes, rocks and trees in this beautiful area, Here are some pics when we were on on the train.
Arriving By Train!  Arriving By Train!  Arriving By Train!

Arriving in hospet at the train station you will get swarmed by "Rick shaw" drivers wanting to take you to Hampi, about 10Rs is the average price for a tourist, Upon arrival in Hampi its even worse, if you got a backpack on, all the guest house owners will swarm you to entice you to stay in there rooms. The first place we got cost us 300Rs per day, it was a nice place (150rs Each), but still a but pricey

One thing Hampi is famous for is "Laxmi" the elephant, Every morning an evening she will be taken to Hampi River to be cleaned, and if you are to give her 1Rs coin, she will take it from you and then tap you on the head with her trunk, Here is a short video of Laxmi down at the river...

Another thing Hampi is famous for is its temple! there are literally 100s of temple situated around Hampi! It really is a magical place to come and visit.

So our plan was to stay here for 3 days and explore around, then move onto our next destination, but it was from this part of my travels that i found things dont always go "as planned"....

There was an "NGO" (Non Government Organisation" which was a "Charity Funded" School to educate the local children whos mothers could not afford to pay for school, and it was open for tourist to come and give what ever hand they could, It was called "Hampi Children's Trust", this is where i would find myself spending the next few months of my life, While my friend Pugs, continued on with his travels...
