I have just enjoyed such an amazing journey. I was treated like a rock star the whole way (and tried my best to look the part with my shirt untucked and rumpled and my hair all tousled). I cashed in all my United Frequent Flyer miles (160,000) and got a first class ticket to India on Lufthansa, via Frankfurt. I was on an Airbus 330 across the ocean, and there were only 8 seats in first class. 1 on each side and 2 in the middle. I was in seat 1 A. You know how in an airplane you have about 1.5 windows between each seat? I had nearly four windows to look out of, all to myself.
They feed you constantly in first class, and you really have to make a decision to stop and get some rest at some point. I thought I'd watch a movie while eating dinner, and barely made it through Monster In Law (Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez). Really fun and funny, but I was nodding by the time they got married at the end so I just folded away my individual video screen and conked out for about 4 hours.
