We make the 2-hour drive to the Capital city of Zagreb this morning, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon we enjoy a comprehensive tour with native-born Antica (pronounced An-TEE-cha), who is utterly charming and full of passion for her work. At one point she is describing the horrors of the Second World War, and you can actually see the hairs stand up on her arms and tears come to her eyes. She brings the city and its history to life. Some of us remark that we never in our lives would have imagined that we would be in Zagreb, but we are really enjoying the visit. The tourist offices have printed a map to gay venues in the city, and we locate one attraction near our hotel on the way to dinner in the old city.
