Today is a day to do as we like on Santorini. Our originally scheduled wine tasting got thumbs down from everyone, so the day is free until we depart this evening. I sleep late, and then have breakfast with several of the guys. Our check out time is 11:30am, so I pack and shower, then move up to the lobby with my luggage. Some of the group are insatiable card players, and they are already there engaged in a spirited game called Pitch. I finish my blog entry from yesterday, then try my hand at it. Later I teach them how to play Estimation, one of my favorite games.

The time passes quickly, and before we know it the hour has come to walk into Fira for our final meal together. It is a sumptuous, late lunch, and as much as I love this Greek food I am happy that we arrive in Athens too late tonight to go out to dinner together.

After lunch I decide to go for a coffee at Franco's Bar, a beautiful spot playing classical music and overlooking the city and water. This will always remain one of my favorite moments on this island – beautiful music and a stunning view. I was sitting by myself having a double espresso with milk, and just as I began to think it would be nice to have someone to share the experience with, the waiter seats a young gay couple from England next to me. We start chatting, and before I know it 45 minutes have passed and it is time for me to get back to the hotel and catch our bus to the airport. Delightful!

Our 8:05pm flight is delayed by about an hour, which means that I reach our hotel at about 10:30pm. My wake-up call is set for just a few hours from now, and at 4am I’ll be on my way to the airport to begin winging my way home. I pop up to our hotel’s roof for one more opportunity to soak in the beauty of the Parthenon illuminated at night, grateful for another fantastic tour accomplished.
