One of the reasons we initially wanted to come to Indonesia was because of one of our favortie scenes from our favorite movie, Baraka.  If you have not seen this film you are totally missing out!  Put it on your netflix and watch it!  For those of you who have seen it then you will surely remember the Kecak song where a large chorus of Balinese men with red flowers in their ear and black and white checkered cloth around the waists sit cross-legged in concentric circlesin front of a temple, with their arms raised in the air, fingers waving, while chanting "Kecak, kechak, achak, kecak" etc. Theis voices and bodies become an orchestra and a dance.

So much did we love this scene that we looked up on the internet where this was taking place and when we found out it was in Bali we said, "I want to go to there!"  Well, it wasn't hard since almost everything here is geared toward tourists and as soon as we arrived, we had a driver offering to take us to the Ulu Watu temple on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean (yay new ocean!).  The temple is crawling with greedy little macaque monkeys, and it's no wonder because locals sell peanuts at the entrance to stupid westerners whole later get their glasses stolen off their heads, cameras stolen, and flip flops torn off.  Although we definitely did not buy any peanuts, one monkey jumped on Jon's head!!!
