Manila is HUGE, very spread out, and full of traffic. Our hostel looks like its 5 mintues from the airport but it takes us over 40 minutes to get there. It's a weird place to stay but they will store our bags for free while we travel around for the next 2 weeks. There's lots of single old white guys walking around here and the "chef" is one of them. He's a nice guy though who actually created banana raisin pancakes! Charm is the sweetest person that works here :)
One of the favorite local foods is Balut. It's a partially developed chicken fetus that is boiled in the egg and eaten like a hard boiled egg with salt and vinegar.
