What I did
For my second day in Perth, we went wine tasting in the Swan Valley wineries just outside of Perth. The Swan Valley is the closest wine growing region to a major city in the world. One of Carly's close mates from high school was coming into town for the weekend with his girlfriend. After picking them up at the airport, we went straight away to the winery.
The weather was nearly perfect - clear blue skies, light cool breeze. It felt like an autumn day even though it was turning from winter to spring.
We started at the Edgecombe Brothers Winery and then Lancaster Wines. It was in the middle of a Friday and perfect, as we were basically the only ones there. After sampling the two wineries, we had lunch at Riverbank Estate. We ended our "tour" at the Margaret River Chocolate Company.
Perth continues to impress me each day I spend here. I'll let the fotos (especially the food porn) I captured tell the rest of the story in the hopes that you, too, were there with us. Thanks for a great day, Carly!
ps: I saw my first black person in Australia today since I've been here. I don't think I even recalling seeing any when I was in the east coast in April. Where my brothas at??
