Awhile ago, I had a really interesting groundwork session taught by Franklin. I learned to "lunge" a horse, when you make them walk or run around you in a circle.  As I got the hang of it, I experienced this incredible moment of connection with my horse.  I could hear Franklin (the teacher's) voice calling directions in the back of my head, but I was in a state of flow with my horse.  I knew where she was moving and how to keep her going.  Way cool!

Living here, I feel totally alive.  I have both highs and lows, but I’m always feeling, breathing, attempting and conquering new challenges.  I haven’t watched TV in five weeks (except for the season finale of True Blood) and I haven’t missed it at all, because my life is so full here.  Our recent rainy days have given me a chance to pause and realize how much I’ve learned in the past month.  I’m not perfect with the horses, but I’m capable, confident and much more relaxed around them.
