I finally made it all the way to Norway and back. It was a little iffy there for a while early Friday morning when I was standing out at the busstop at 4:15 a.m. waiting for the night bus. I waited for it an hour before it finally came, so I barely made it to the airport in time. But who wants to sit around waiting in the airport anyway! This way I just ran up to the counter, ran to my gate, and then jumped onto the plane just in time for takeoff. It was a great weekend and I got to see lots of people that I haven't seen for a very long time. I saw lots of my friends from Finland and Denmark and I couldn't believe how many of the kids remembered me even though it's been six years since I've seen any of them. The most fun though was seeing my new little nephew Tobias! Definitely the highlight of the trip! He's so tiny and sweet and I took a bunch of pictures which I will post for the benifit of my family especially.
It was pouring on Friday when I arrived, so it was so nice to be able to visit people in their beautiful new cabins at Brunstad. I had tea in four different Finnish family cabins that first night! The rest of the weekend cleared up a little so I was able to go down to the beach and hang out on the docks, eating ice cream and other snacks from the little snack shops on the docks. Friday night I stayed at Davy and Ester's(my brother and sister-in-law, for those who don't know) in Sandefjord and Davy made pancakes for us in the morning. Yummy. It was nice to see them and get to spend a little time there. Overall, the trip felt like a little peaceful family vacation and it was very refreshing. I'm glad that I was able to work it into my London trip this summer.
