Three days ago summer arrived here. All of the sudden it got H-O-T. This onset, coupled with my brief stomach distress, made me move even slower than everyone else.
Our ducks apparently found a miracle cure for menopause and have started laying eggs again (probably heard us talking about favorite duck soup recipes). Got one new, happy, and loyal customer for our produce--D-Lo Burmese restaurant. They are buying about 500 baht of vegies a week, (If you find yourself in CM, please eat there.)
Friends Teresa and Eric hosted a Burma party on Saturday night--raised $225 towards our motorcycle fund drive. Cousin Judy's check arrived-THANKS, Judy. And BIL Hans Dunshee's $250 check came too, so we are getting close when combined with the earlier $170 contribution made by Rudy Porter of the Solidarity Center in Bangkok and 1000 baht from our visiting Canadian labor leaders.
If we end up raising more money than the $1000 US ( we are currently $300 short) we need for the motorcycle, we will buy piglets. One piglet costs 1400 baht. A slaughter weight hog sells for 10,000 baht. Their feed here is almost entirely free inputs. KDW has decided that any pig profits will be set aside as start up $$$ for graduates of this program to set up similar farms inside Burma.
If you want to follow farm stuff, you should Fan the NEED-Burma Facebook page. WM thinks that Facebook is a giant identity theft disaster waiting to happen and, like TravelPod, flies under false colors on FB.
On Wisconsin!
WM lived in Illinois when Rod the Blago was Governor, He was a bully, an intellectual lightweight, he used the office to harshly punish those with whom he disagreed and heap bounty on his toadies. He had no interest in or talent for governance.
Fast forward to Wisconsin. The only US news WM gets here is Fox, and everyone knows that Fox News will always support any American despot against any American Union. But the mistake this guy is making is using the friendly softball Fox questions to overreach. He forgets that while he is talking to an uncritical syncophant, critical thinkers are reeling at his total personalization of power politics as more important than the business of the people of Wisconsin. He has said crazier things than Blago, leading WM to an epiphanal conclusion.

It did not take too long for the IL Democrats to impeach and otherwise take down our Governor hairdo. It remains to be seen whether the WI GOP takes down this nutball or whether they themselves will be taken down by him.
