Tioman Island is a 3 hour ferry ride from the mainland.  It is teeming with wildlife--while there WM saw a baby crocodile, a caiman, zillions of sleeping bats, and a pair of beautiful yellow orioles.

The snorkelilng and diving there is excellent,, as is the white sand beach.  Stayed at the Seri Bungalows, a cheapie right on the beach. ($21)  The bungalows were simle and clean, ....however, they were wood slats and the sand fleas in the room at night were a pain.  After spraying a lot , changing my sheets every night, and lighting  mosquito coils throughout the night it was suppressed, but not before many of them ate their fill of Wandering_man.

THe island was gorgeous, and not very developed. Enjoy the pics.
