Langkawi Island, Tengah Beach.  An island that by all rights geographically should be in Thailand, but is in Malaysia.

WW and I got here on Friday, arriving on the ferry from Georgetown at 11:30 AM and checked into our 40 Ringgit fan room at Zackry's, the friendliest place we'ver ever stayed.  Zackry lives here, leaves his room unlocked, keys in his car, and has an honor bar, and interesting characters staying here from all over the world.  Today the following nations have guests here: Zimbabwe, Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Austria, Poland, India, China, Holland, Malaysia, Indonesia, and one lost soul Southern boy from Georgia USA.

The beach is, well, stunning.  WM ate sting ray last night and it was outstanding. WW had squid and jumbo prawn  Both were  from the fising boats of the previous night, grilled over coconut shell fire and basted in a Malay sauce that was beyond good.

Rented a moto today (30RM for 24 hours) and headed to the north of the island,  Lots of monkeys, one kind of lemur (I think-- not a good pic), and a steep hike up to a waterfall where WM dunked is head, the water being surprisingly not cold.

WM has been at war with his sinuses the past few days and finally got some OTC meds,  Four more nights here then ferry to Satun, Thailand, bus to Hat Yai, then 2nd class Thai sleeper train to Bangkok.

But first, four more days of fun in the sun at the white sand beach here in Langkawi.
