WW and I signed up for a snorkeling trip to Deer Island. Met Celia, a truly delightful young girl from the North of France, on the van.’
Snorkeling was terrific--never saw this many fish. Still, these folks are not very good stewards of the wonder that gives them their livelihood. Ten boats, all anchored in the coral. 60 snorkelers and no bathroom facilities women could use on the island. (They fed us lunch and gave us water and cokes--folks gotta go!). Trash piled in a fire ring on the beach--not hauled back to the mainland.
WM loved the beauty of this place and hopes that somebody who reads this on Bali does something to protect it.
Ate at Apple’s Warung- Appel is a really nice guy--offered to lend me his moto to go pick up Wandering_woman when it was raining. Very good food and very inexpensive. Appel starts his happy hour beer prices ½ hour before the competition. WM says eat at Appel’s
