So I was getting pretty itchy feet sitting in Antigua, and the school I was with was kind of boring me to Death then I heard my buddy tell me about his plans to hit up the beach. Well, the choice was obvious as well as comforting bringing me back home in more ways then one. My sole choice at that hour was to blow off school and go from cool Antigua to scorching hot volcanic beach on the Pacific Coast. Pretty good time, had a 2 hour drive in the back of a 2 door Suzuki Pick up, very comparable to that crappy suzuki 2 door we have at home. Except this one had a 4ft square bed. It was a welcome change to get to hit the beach and away from tourist trap Antigua.
I had a nice reminder what Not to do travelling with a 25 year old who has been living in Antigua for many years now with 2 kids, one being five. Moral of the story......a 10 foot stick and the words "get back woman! get back"
Returned to Antigua, to hop on a bus to Semuc Chempey the following morning. Which is basically the beginning of my real adventure...Antigua was always planning on being just a lay over,it was but turned out to be more of a vacum then I wanted and it sucked up a bit too much of my time.
