Finally arriving in Copan after a long day of travel I settled into my Hostel where immediately again I met a new group of travelers. Not wanting to waste anytime we all decided to check out a local cafe and lounge to see how the scene was. While there we had a great time getting to know each other and the surrounding locals. The next morning we all had different plans but, we would all met up later that night. I headed off to see the Ruins, which was a nice 1km walk from my Hostel. Arriving at the park I paid my entrance fee and was offered to jump in a group that had a tour guide. Since the group was of 5 people I only had to pay an additional $2.00, not a bad deal! After seeing Tikal in Guatemala I was a little skeptical about how impressed I would be with Copan. While different from each other they both were equally impressive. One thing I noticed is that Copan has a lot more sculptures and hieroglyphics than Tikal. While I did enjoy Tikal for its the magnitude of its Temples, Copan has a much more relaxed tranquil feel to its site. I took plenty of pictures and videos for all to enjoy. :)

hey, the Mayan map was impressive, their civilization was much bigger than I thought. Nice photos of the ball court, I think and imagine the movie Apocalypto!

Thx
Glad everyone's enjoying the blog... sometimes I find it difficult to put into words my experiences here but, I try my hardest to add as many details.

BTW Joey great job on your fight!! I know somebody had to tape it, right? Definitely got to check that out when I get back. I'm still waiting for the day when I see you in the WEC tapping people out! :)

Awesome pics bro. I love the monkey sculpture pictures. They had a sense of humor even back then.
