We lucked out on our overnight "VIP" bus from Bangkok to Mae Sot in that Shianna got 2 seats to lie down on for most of the ride and Isaac and I had the seats with the most stretch out and recline/lay down action. We checked into the Nice Palace Hotel, which was alright, but they charged for wifi, which was a bit ridiculous I thought.
So then we were off to explore Bangkok - took the skytrain down to the pier on the Chao Phraya River and took a boat down to the Grand Palace/Wat Pho area. It was again SUPER hot, but still nice to take the kids to see these places. We spent the rest of the day doing some shopping in different parts of the city. Bangkok is still a great place for cheap cute clothes, rip off dvds and cheap street food - lots more khao niow (sticky rice) for us that day for sure!
