Arrived at Vilhonneur, Leo & Lennies's, Cooks cousins place, around 4;30. They really made us welcome. They realised how tired we were so gave us an early dinner, pea soup & pancakes, my favourite. They then brought over to our "gite" around 12 klms away. It is an old converted barn, built in 1740, made into three separate units. Big oak beams and stone walls. The main house is next to us, also built in 1740. The owners, Linda & Mike, also made us welcome with a few get to know you drinks before we crashed for the night. Had a sleep in & then Mike showed Travis &I around the other gites and the main house. He has rebuilt the whole place himself & has done a great job. Can't believe the age of the buildings, even the front gate is heritage listed.
Leo & Lennie came over to pick us up then we all went to a local market. Mainly just a lot of other peoples junk but interesting. Then went for a drive to an old castle, 1701, which has been restored in another little French village. Then an old Roman bridge around 1000 years old. Driving is fun, big car & little roads, always a good combination. Back to Leo's for lunch & the kids had a swim as 27 degrees. A bit of lunch then  to another little village which had a carnival. It took over several streets. A quiet been at a café then dinner at one of Leo & Lennies favourite restaurants.  Dropped them off and got lost coming back to the gite. Two GPS's and still managed to get lost. After a bit of reprogramming we made it. Overall another great day.
