After breakfast in the cafe in the lobby, Gerhard drives us to Luebeck. He loves the rented passat and puts his foot down whenever there is no speed limit (200 km/h too fast for my blood)! I hear church bells ringing and suddenly feel an urge to pray! Jennie says she imagines this is what it feels like to sit in a train!

We arrive in Luebeck at 10:30. Niklas has just finished his breakfast (he is studying second year Biology and the three young ones find they have a lot to chat about ). I'm the only one who didn't study Science)!

We drive in 2 cars to old town of Luebeck and go on a walking tour. Luebeck was founded in the 9 th century with some of the building and churches over 1,000 years old. Gerhard wants to buy an old beer glass so we visit the one antique shop after the other. It is pouring! We love the antiques at the auction house. The prices are very very good! Much cheaper than Australia!

Walter invites everyone for lunch at the Seemanns Gesellschaft restaurant, which has been a restaurant since 1535. It is dark inside with Bible stories and scenes painted on the walls! The beer was made in oak barrell and tastes fantastic! The food is typical local dishes - which we just love (Herring, Gulasch, Schweinbraten). We decide that the location would be good idea for future meeting place for the Schoening and Niehus family!

We walk through the children's exhibition of German folk stories (Aschenputtel ; Dornroeschen; Rumpelstilzchen; Rotkaepchen; Tischlein deck dich; Schneewittchen; and many more)!

We are sad to say goodbye to the Niehus family, but are looking forward to seeing them soon in Australia!
