so today after a nice sleep in opatija Croatia...we stayed in the home of some random family...the tourists agencies here work with local people who have extra rooms and rent them to tourists for them.  anyways, our accommodation was very nice and we slept quite well.  so this morning we left opatija and drove south along the coast line of the Adriatic sea.  Luis who is from Miami, nick and myself all agreed the views were some of the most beautiful we have seen in the world.  it was really incredible.  we drove along the cost for about an hour and came up to a place that said there was a ferry...so we went and checked it out.  we ended up going to the island of Cres...off the coast...the largest island in Croatia with a pop of like 3000...so not that many.  Cres was where the former president of Croatia had his summer home.  After driving about 45 mins, and seeing the most beautiful views we have seen in our entire trip, we came upon the town of Cres and found a beach with only 2 other people on it.  it was perfect! the water was crystal clear, warm, and there was a market like 2 mins away that sold 1$ half litre beers :) so we basically laid out in the sun all day. we took tons of pics...but i already know the pics will not do justice to this beautiful place.  And because it was somewhat difficult to get to, there were very few tourists...we maybe saw 20 the whole day...and most of them were likely locals.  Luis left tonight headed to Dublin then back to Miami, so cres made for an excellent ending to his trip in Europe.  and it was exactly what i had been looking for.  the town/beach/people seemed so unreal.  it was really like a paradise...old fishing boats, and buildings...and as we were driving into cres we saw what seems like some old roman ruins...we were not really sure, but it just added to the level of immense beauty.  There really are no words for it...it was like no place i have ever been.
