Where I stayed
We woke early today to take the trip to the high altitude lakes.
We first visited Laguna Chaxa, where we saw many Flamingos in the salt lake. As it was early in the morning they put on a bit of breakfast. Well after a while people came from every where and after a couple of coffees I needed to go to the toilet. now there were two toilets. One had a picture of a women and the other was the the women's. very strange no men's? Well I had to go, so I went in. Whilst I was in there I noticed that I couldn't lock the door. Anyway I was half way through the procedure when a girl walked in. I don't know who got the biggest shock her or me. Anyway we both apologised.
We then travelled up to the lakes which were at 4150 metres above sea level. Quite high.
Unfortunately the sky was a little overcast and we could not see the huge snow capped volcano that looks down on these lakes.
The air was a little thin and you could feel it, but none of us suffered any sickness nor did we have to chew coca leaves, which we had just in case.
We visited a couple of towns on our way back, but I was feeling very sleepy at that time and I had a little snooze.
Tonight we are off to another restaurant and then tomorrow we are being collected to travel up 4312 metres to the Geysers del Tatio.
