Well the coach is smooth and not too much traffic on the A1 - just passing the turn off to York. Set of on time - many thanks mums and dads and stopped after 1 mile to hand back house keys to one very grateful mum ( could have been a long week otherwise!)

Steven is reading his book 'Playstation 3 Cheats bible', others are chatting away merrily, eating, drinking and asking that familiar question 'when will we get there....?' Answer is in about 20 minutes when we stop at Ferrybridge services for a short break. We expect to be in Hull by about 5.30pm so we can board the ferry for a 7.00pm sailing. More news from there.

Thinking about the purpose of our trip Miss Hinshelwood who is currently trying to remember the WW1 poetry to recite over the next few days points to Herbert Asquith's 'The volunteer' with these lines;
'The gleaming eagles of the legions came,
And horsemen, charging under phantom skies,
Went thundering past beneath the oriflamme.'

20 minutes at the services - time for more food, drink and what we hadn't expected, a little massage [PHOTO_ID_R=
