Where I stayed
with a Ayamara Indian family
We started our 2-day boat trip on Lake Titticaca. We visited the man-made Uros Islands that are made from reeds.
Then we went to the Ayamara island where we met our host family that we stayed with for the night.
The family made us quinoa soup for lunch with goat cheese over rice.
We had a great fiesta at night, wearing the traditional clothing of the Ayamara indians. We danced with them and everyone drank Cusquena beer.
There were no lights on the island so we used our cell phones as flashlights. Only problem was when they both died then we had no light and did not know what time it was. Luckily, a nice German girl lent us her watch for the night so we could meet up with everyone in the morning at the right time.
