Where I stayed
We took a incredible one hour and a half train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Caliente. On the train our tour guide had a debate about soccer with a lady from Uruguay.
After arriving in Aguas Caliente we got on a bus winding up the mountain to Macchupicchu. Amazing views of the cloud forest. Nature is much more lush here as we are closer to the Amazon jungle.
As Sarah says, Macchupicchu can only be described as 'heaven on earth'
Walker had his favorite meal of the trip that night at Treehouse restaurant at Rupa Wasi- quinoa crusted trout fishsticks over cheesey risotto and mulberry sauce.... Rupa Wasi is well worth the ~75 step climb up the hill!
