Olga and I got up early as we wanted to do the wall walk with some participants. The weather was still ominous, but the rain held off and we had a great morning. We watched the catch of the day being brought in with all the colorful fishing boats. All the vendors were selling fresh fruit, flowers at the market. It was spectacular. We wished to stay longer in Dubrovnik, but it is now time to get back on board for lunch and sail on toward Split.

After lunch we had a brief brake, but then we attended a lecture by our ship board lecturer, Oswyn Murray, who talked to us about the famous Diocletian's Palace. We continued to cruise the stunning coastline of the islands of Korcula and Hvar. The Dalmatian coast is dotted with thousands of islands and its people have been intrepid seamen for centuries. As you wind past the pine-forested island of Korcula, said to be the birthplace of Marco Polo, and the gorgeous island of Hvar, you may understand why a Roman emperor would choose to voluntarily abdicate at the height of his power so he could retire to these scenic shores. We are now getting ready for our Road Scholar cocktail party up in the Observation Lounge and the pianistt Stacy will perform for our group. In between I am really busy with emails to prepare last details for the large group arriving in Venice this Saturday. Hopefully, all is now finalized and I have been talking with Eleni who is the next group leader.
