Watched a lovely sunrise.  But then the weather turned cloudy again, never mind in this postcard it is always beautiful.  As there are only rooms here and no eating place or reception I walked up to the square to the reception office - checked emails then wandered back down some of the cobblestoned alleys to a cafe for crepes for breakfast.

Wandered back up the square - I decided to catch the bus the Fira today (the capital of Santorini), met and chatted to a nice young Melbourne couple.  Wandered through Fira and bought some stuff.

Wanted to go for a walk down to the port by the 588 steps and possibly catch a donkey ride back up again.  When I reached the steps I saw lots of donkeys and tried to speak to the donkey man about my idea but communication did not happen very easily - so ended up having a donkey ride only 1/2 way down the cliff and back up.  ?!?!  Not quite sure why only half way but it was too difficult to communicate and it was a bit drizzly so I really didn't mind.  It was a pretty tough call for the donkey as well.

As I was getting off the donkey a man and a woman were walking down the stairs and he slipped and fell twisting his ankle, I went to help and somehow made the donkey man understand that this man needed a ride on the donkey back up the hill.  Got the man on the donkey but instead of going up they went down.  Silly idea but .....

Back to my walk, weather wet, fine, wet, fine found a nice cafe for some nice Santorni Kastelli wine and baclava YUM.   Went and booked ticket on ferry to Piraeus Athens - slow one as it is the cheapest, but will take about 9 hours.   Now all I need to do is find some accommodation in Athens - later.

Caught bus back to Oia - walked back to room - no sunset - but still nice enough to have wine and olives again on my balcony with the cat.  Watched a bit of Greek TV and read the paper.  Tomorrows weather is not meant to be good so will save boat ride till Thursday.

LEON:  Had brekky which is included with dinner in the cost of the week at the hotel.  Met two of the men doing the course, they offered to drive me to the studio.  Arrived, met Paul the owner and other two ladies on the course - they were all military personnel - there were 5 of us in total.  Morning was mostly camera theory followed by a shoot in the studio then lunch provided with the course.  The afternoon was Photoshop theory and practical.

Lift back to the hotel with the lads, had a beer and then dinner with them, a few more after dinner then crashed.
