Up 545 for a big travel day today.  Luckily I bagged a table seat but facing forward so I could play 500 with Mike, Kyle, Damien, Colin as the day progressed.  Had lumch in the pouring rain (we stop in the middle of nowhere and the people on duty cut up stuff and lay it out and we eat but this only works really well when it is not raining but thewre was simply nowhere to stop!) Lots of lovely scenry though.  A rainbow jumping from hill to hill was quite beautiful (and there were proper toilets there, you get tired (especially the girls) of squatting behind a rock (itīs still very bleak although at least it isnīt desert so much now).  It was cold too, we were at over 4000m for most of the day.  After 12 hours travel we got to our hotel in Cuzco (the tourist Mecca of South America I think, every second shop has something for them but the dollars have led to clean streets and restored buildings ( in the center at least) so it canīt be all bad, you get tired of people trying to sell you stuff though!).  We were a little late so we dropped bags off in our rooms (thankfully only a 2 share again) and met in the lobby for about 25 of us to go to dinner at The Witches Garden.  Not a very traditional place but very funky, with pop-artist nude paintings of women on the walls and funky music in the background.  Had a good laugh with Michael and Jo while there.  Finsihed up 1030 there aftewr a chicken curry and a few wines and Michael headed out with about 10 others to club and dance their arses off while the rest of us did a brief shop (I picked up chocolate and Chips Ahoy biscuits for the trek (for energy of course) and headed back to the hotel.  I had a few days journal to do and Unforgiven was on the TV so I was content and quite mellow.  Bed 1240 or so.
