Up at 830.  Thankfully my laundry was hanging on my outside doorknob )I wasnīt so happy when they charged me 5USD for it but what can you do).  Finally, I got hold of Susie on the phone and we chatted for 35 minutes before something cut us off and I had to pay that call and by the time Iīd done that other people where waiting for the phone so I went and had breakfast.  My Spanish must be really bad or things are just a bit unusual here but in the breakfast section I ordered something likely looking and ended up with chocolate cake, a cappucino and strawberry and milk!  Breakfast of champions!!  Still couoldnīt get on the phone so back to my room to hang for a bit before packing all my stuff up and walking the 9 blocks to my new hotel, the one I was staying with with Tucan.  Met the guy I was stayiny with )in this room anyway) ' Michael from Perth.  Young guy, 23, lots of piercings and heīs finishing off a 9 month trip!  After all the time Iīve had to myself I could stay chatting for long so headed back to the ped amll and went and saw "The Invasion" (the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers) - hell, it was only 1USD.  Had tho find an envelope to put all that money in so did that - considered multivitamins as there havenīt been too many vegetables in Cuba or here but I reckon that at 20USD a bottle I will see what Tucan come up with!  Wrote blog at hotel then chatted to Michael round 4:00 to 6:00 where we had our pre-departure meeting with Jo (or leader), Luke (our driver), James (learning driver) amd Michael and I, Jan and Woz from Eng, and Nicole (Swiss).  We wre missing three who were also starting today as they were flying in late.  Jo is English, little and bubbly, the perfect sort of guide!  It all sounds very well organised but we are going to be joinng a group of 26 people who have already been togethe for 2 weeks so that will be  a little awkward (new kid on the block and all that) and the bus is completely full with 34 pasengers and 3 crew.  After the meeting I met most of the smokers in the group at the bar (Jeremy-Ellen (Eng-Dutch), Melanie (Eng), Binny and Kim (two Aust women in their 50s) so that was a good start.  We all (and others) ook a cab down to the nice part of Lima by the coast, Miraflores, and met up with a heap of the group at a nice restaurant called Tony Romasīs.  It was expensive though and even more so when I was given the wrong dish and started eating it and it turned out it was the one Japanese guyīs and he gets cranky when things donīt run just so so I had to pay for my dish and his.  Expensive restaurant remember - 33US (11US due to my mistake) all up - man I could eat for days on that....arrgh!!  So embarressed at the whole thing I was very quiet for the rest of the night so I was glad that we had to get up earley tomorrow and we didnīstay there too long!!  At least the poor Japanese guy baely speaks any English so doesnīt have a group that I got off on the wrong foot with!   I gave my extra meal to a homeless girl outside the restaurant so something good came out of this debacle!  Bed 1100.
