We are now off for a further excursion in another country!

First we came across signage leading to the border crossing of Poland, we were a bit confused. After further investigating of the map we could see that the borders of Poland and Czech Rep. were rather close! About
5 minutes later we came to the border crossing for Czech Republic. Routine check, passport control and at both border crossings they made us pull over as they investigated the USA passport.  They probably
don't see many of these at this crossing!

We cruised into the town of Liberec and the green mountains began to extend in the distance and the fresh
mountain air cascaded thru my lungs!  We found the tourist office and our route further over the mountian to our camping destination.  "It is just over the moutain range on the other side", said the woman at the
tourist office with an odd accent.

We will be camping on the outskirts of Liberec in the little village of Januv Dul.  We bought a camping book of Europe and discovered this off beat campground.

As we embark our drive over the mountain pass the rain launches itself in hard, massive drops! I begin thinking that rain is not the best alternative at this moment. Tom is already hesitant about camping and
the rain introduction is not going to help his reluctancy! We find our campsite and set up. We will stay for 3 nights and explore the area.  The camping only went from bad to worse: Our air mattress had a hole,
Tom's throat began hurting and the rain continued!  This was not my ideal manner of introducing him to cheap accomodation and the joys ofcamping!

We have a few days to relax, hike and soak in the mountain air.  We took some brisk, enlivening hikes up to Jested Tower, which is a 94 metre-tall tower used to transmit television signal built on the top of Jested Mountain overlooking Liberec.  In the winter the area is used for skiing and as we gazed about from the top you could distinguish the skiing slopes.  It was superb standing at high elevation again viewing the panorama!  I have missed my mountain hikes overlooking the earth from above!
