We started the day in Watson Lake in the rain. Not hard rain, but misty, wet, and cold. We all thought that we would probably not see any animals along the way because of the rain. That philosophy quickly went out the window. We were barely out of town when we saw a herd of 8 wild horses. After we passed the horses we started seeing scat along the road. At first we surmised that it must belong to the horses, but as we saw more and more piles of poop we realized there couldn't possibly be that many horses along this road. Then we saw a big buffalo headed into the woods. By this time Val had the camera out, but we were only quick enough to get bison butt. This was about 7:45 in the morning. Before noon we saw 8 wild horses, 13 black bear, 70 buffalo, 1 fox, 4 moose, and 1 snowshoe hare. The fox we saw was sitting on a cement abutment at the side of the road. Really? Dave says he’d like to spread all of these along Monty’s bus route into the park at Denali. Boy, would he ever have something to talk about then!
Our plan was to go 400 to 450 miles, but by the time we decided to stop we couldn’t find a camping place and ended up at Charlie Lake, about 51 miles from Dawson Creek – 562 miles total. We are exhausted, and it is raining cats and dogs. Dave is soaked to the skin before he gets the trailer set up for the night. I’d help him, but I just hate the smell of wet dog – don’t you?

P.S. Val has not been able to get any decent internet signal, so that is why this is being sent so late. After Charlie Lake we spent the night in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada at a wonderful Lions RV Camp. We decided it is our favorite campground so far. We sat in the shade of our canopy, drank beer, and talked to passersby. We woke up early this morning to get a jump on the day and get around Calgary before the stampede starts. One problem - we forgot to pull in the canopy. Driving with the canopy out is not a good idea because sooner or later you will hit a tree. Yup. Mangled the canopy. The campground host came running out at 6:30 in the morning and helped Dave get the canopy rolled up and back in place, then they tied it in place with ropes. This will be an expensive mistake. Dave is still beating himself up over it.
Tonight we are at Malta, Montana, USA. It's good to be back in the good ole USA. We will try to make Grand Forks, North Dakota tomorrow, somewhere in da UP the next day, and then HOME!

What great pictures, hope we see as many as you all have. We left Denali this morning Sunday for Nenana, to deliver the motor home to the new buyer. we plan to leave here early Tuesday am and cross over the border Tuesday.
I'd hug a ssb, much better than an sst. And I have experience with sst's.
