I am not ready to return east. This is just a taste of Arizona. What about the south with its hummingbirds, roadrunners and more cacti? But here I am in Scottsdale, minutes from the MC dealer about to return the Harley. It was a forever trip at times. Miles and hours crawled by under those big skies. Now it's over.

I go out to a used bookstore and grab a Tony Hillerman book to read with dinner. Sigh. I feel good that I did the trip, by myself, without a chaperone. Women can go where they want, when they want here. It seems easy to forget that in other places it isn't possible or safe.

Now that I've done this, it's time to plan a bigger trip. I've always wanted to ride across North America...
