I am leaving for my month-long backpacking excursion in less than 48 hours and will be traveling with two friends from college, Liz and Audrey.
About a year ago, Liz and I made a pact that we would travel through Europe together after we finished our AmeriCorps service in New Hampshire. Liz had only been to Italy (although she spent 5 weeks there!) and wanted to see the rest of Europe. Audrey has spent the last year in England doing a masters program and also did not want to miss out on this chance to see Europe. If you know me, I'm never opposed to hopping on a plane to almost any destination!
I am barely ready. I have been looking forward to this trip for so long, yet somehow it just crept up on me and I can't believe it is actually happening! This past week was dedicated to moving out of my apartment in Concord, NH :-( , so packing for Europe wasn't exactly at the top of my list.
So, tomorrow, among other last minute items on my to-do list, my goal is to stuff all my essential belongings into one Rick Steves backpack (that is beginning to look more and more miniscule) and hope it all fits...
Next stop...Paris!
