We had a late dinner at "The Blue Inn" awhile we sat outside facing a peaceful little bay. We both had crab cakes and vegetables. I had brown rice and Larry had potatoes. It was delicious.
Now we are checked into the Gorges Grand Hotel. We have no plans for tomorrow other than to move on north. We hope to travel further along this same highway and see what else we can find - and stop at the water now and then. We'll see. More spontaneity.
We moved north through New Hampshire, switched over to highway 1 from 1A and crossed into Maine. We decided we were ready to stop for the night and we just hapipened to come across this little town. I don't know how to pronounce it... but I like the looks of the name - and the surroundings are even better. It is an adorable resort town just off the ocean a bit. There is a couple blocks of quaint shops and restaurants with some beautiful motel/hotels. There is also a couple of roads in particular which take you directly to a beach. We took Beach Street and arrived at one of them. We parked the car... this time to walk in the water of the Atlantic. The air was nice and comfortably cool after the hot day, and the breeze felt wonderful. The smell in the air was so fresh and clean. The ocean water was cold but there were swimmers and surfers enjoying it anyway. Ogunquit was a great discovery!
