We had a lot of fun at Trevor & Norma's, playing cards (Kaiser of course, the Froess Family game!) and marbles. Tuesday morning Norma made us toast and sausages for breakfast, we left around 9AM. Heading to KMS Tools in Red Deer, where Kevin was going to work for a few hours. It's one of their locations that he was going to visit after our trip but why not going there while we're travelling? He insisted to take me for lunch at the Diner's that he has been to two years ago. We love the 'old 50-style diners'. It is located in the Burn Lake Industrial area. Not something you drive by, you just have to know. They serve breakfast menu, soup, and their burgers are made fresh daily.
We ate outside because of our dog, and he was lucky again. They served him a little plate with a few bacon strips!
I dropped Kevin off at the KMS store and took off to see Sylvan Lake, approximately  20 minute drive. This lake is a very popular destination for tourists with over 1.5 million visitors each year. It offers a lot of family fun like the Wild Rapids water slides, which has become the largest facility of its kind in western Canada. There are also go-karts, lake cruises, golf courses, etc. There are nice beaches for sunbathing and swimming, and also a lighthouse at the Sylvan Lake Marina. The downside was that at that moment there was a lot of construction. Streets to the lake were all blocked off.
I walked back to the truck, gave Chico a bowl of water and headed out to Comfort Inn in Red Deer, where we have booked a room for the night. After Kevin's working day we did not feel much for looking for a campground so we had booked a hotel in advance.
It was a nice hotel, very friendly staff who all loved the little dog. Good price too, we paid $ 129 including breakfast and $ 20 for the dog.
At night, Brad from KMS Tools Red Deer  invited us for dinner at Mr. Mikes. We sat on the patio,  while Chico was attached on the outside. Great dinner, big glass of beer...mmm life is good!
