In spite of previous forecasts, the sky is mostly sunny, the bike shop is closed so I have no choice but to enjoy relaxing with family. I am very lucky to have them here and considering that we haven't spent much time together since they were kids, it is lovely to visit and see the remarkable adults they have become.
Like many families, we spread to the winds years ago and although my brothers 'came home'. Their grownup children are out west and nobody gets to visit as often as they would like. Last year I dropped in on one family for a night while passing through to Banff, and reconnected. This year I am staying with another and getting to know their kids.
Okotoks is within miles of the lovely Rte 40 ride up to the Banff area. Riding that road last year was a treat; picture cruising alongside the mountains with vistas into valleys and lakes.
You bet that I will be doing that road again when this repair business is done.
