The trip to the resort was pretty
interesting, scary n boring respectively :-)..
Interesting: we started off from Calicut with loads of excitement, n yeah d Bombay people go crazy when they see greenery n a few clouds n waterfall, so that really made d journey perfect, the Tamarassery Ghats was a perfect hue of all possible greens a human eye cud perceive, countless instant waterfalls and fog dancing all over d road, our guide cum sarathi Mojo handled us well, he was stopping the car where ever he knew we would like and very patiently sat in d cab taking care of our belongings when we two rushed out of d car with cameras like complete cartoons.
I must say it wasn't either of ours mistake that we were acting crazy, the place was
just awesome the climate was perfect – cloudy but no rains.. Scary: there were no dividers on d
Ghats, our indica was really at d mercy of all the heavy vehicles.by d time we were climbing up d Ghats, it got darker, all we cud see was head lights which made us squint n noises of the struggling heavy trucks. All we cud see was forest, no people, no villages, no street
lights. We kept taking directions from the manager Rajeev Thomas. He told its 3kms to d right from a saw mill at some blablabla village.
So d quest for saw mill begins....we cud hardly find people to ask if our route was correct. Boring: Guess Rajeev didn’t study good maths in school, or may be in his MBA d master minds told him d business technique of measuring d distance between 2 places. We took almost an hour, to cover the so called 3kms from the saw mill. We were going thru a mud path surrounded by tea plantations and forests. I had made up my mind that the first thing i would tell d manager is distance = speed/time, But he was a really sweet man with a forever smiley face. Mojo was completely frustrated driving for so long n thru de bumpy muddy road.
D adventure begins.............
d cottage was in d end of d resort, i
cud hears dogs. We had heavy luggage’s with us..d one who came to help us was not enough to carry d bags n a light. So we let him lead d way with lights in his hand. We walked almost for 10minutes to reach d honeymoon cottage. We opened d door n spotted 3 spiders,4 moths n
few ants feasting on a dead grasshopper....wow we were so close to nature, that we had nature all around us literally. From d room we cud hear d waterfall...we were waiting eagerly for the next day morning, when we can actually see d waterfall...
the morning was beautiful. We managed to wake up early in d morning. It was drizzling outside; the waterfall was breath taking...it was heavy, a real wild waterfall and a stream below it bordering the resort. After enjoying d sight, both sleepy sleeper sons were back to bed..n then woke up at our usual timings. Had breakfast by 11am...Then started for roaming in the resort with our leach defender...ooii it wasn’t really any machine gun like mechanism, it was just a packet of common salt.. They were ready to prepare a mix of tobacco n coconut oil if we were going for exclusive trekking. But miaji n I preferred to relax n trek.
We saw the cottages in d resort and liked d wood cottage, and shifted to there by evening...woodcottage js had a spider to entertain vinu by scaring me...this s d day we really spent time talking to each other, till then our communication was jus d long telephone calls..it started raining heavily and d electricity went off during the night..poor miaji he didnt have any other option than to stay awake talking to me.
