Howdy! We just finished lunch. We had real Italian lasagna! The stuff we eat in the States could never do it justice!!! It was SO good! We toured the Castello Savelli. It is a very old castle whose construction was from the year 1000 to 1600. (It also sits at the top of the Palombara Sabina mountain.) it is really cool to see the evolution from Lombardi tower to Savelli fortress. There were a lot of original frescoes, artwork and artifacts throughout the castle. Also a local art school had done their own interpretation of some themes seen in the castle and their artwork was displayed in one of the rooms. Another thing that impressed me was the chapel. It was tiny and only probably seated 10 people but religion is so important that hardly any castle is without a place of worship. Too bad they focus on the rituals of religion and not the relationship they could have with God... I guess that's what we're here for!
I bought a few postcards to send to my sponsors. I want to live in Italy! Everyday I fall more and more in love with the villages, language, food, and especially the people!
Magdiel, Heidi, Hans, LeeAnne and I practiced "I Don't Care." It's looking good! Fabrizio said that we should do it tomorrow. We'll see... He is going over the game plan for this evening. Magdiel, Crystal, Jacqui and I are all in the same group with Daniele as our leader.
We passed out tracts and left flyers in a lot of mailboxes. Hopefully people will read the messages and decide to visit the churches! If nothing else, maybe it will just make them a little curious about God and question their relationship with Him! Supposedly we get to sleep in tomorrow... I hope it's true!
