Kingston in Canada might not have many Jamaicans living here but it sure does have thousands of gorgeous islands and is also slap bang in the between Toronto and Montreal so the perfect place for an overnight stop. Besides just being a convenient rest stop Kingston it's also the convict capital of Canada as its home to many of the countries prisons not to mention a vibrant old colonial student town.

More importantly Kingston sits on the junction of the Rideau Canal and Lake Ontario and is perfectly situated to tour the famous 1000 Islands, the area the tangy salad dressing was named after. After a good nights rest and awesome blueberry pancake breakfast we races to the small neighbouring town of Gananoque where we caught the 2.5 hour cruise of the 1000 Islands.

The islands are divided between the US and Canada by area instead of number of islands. Some of the islands are privately owned and have some dream homes built on them, some were even so small that if you stepped out of your back door you'd get your feet wet. Others we much larger and some of the biggest attractions are Boldt Castle and Millionaires Row.

The 2.5 hour cruise passed in no time and I'd recommend it anyone in the area and if you have longer dollars than we have, see if you can spend a night on one of the islands, that's sure to be a real treat.

We hit the road right after the cruise and not long into the trip I developed and incredible itch on my right knee. I initially though I'd been dinning list of some mosquitoes but could not remember hearing or seeing them and Inge-Marie was left strangely unscathed. By the time we arrived in Montreal a few more itchy spots appeared on my arms and I was beginning to wonder if I might be allergic to something, upon closer inspection we started realising what the cause might be....
