The trip from Adelaide to Melbourne is about 750km and too far for one days driving, especially with the 100km/h speed limit, so we decided to stop somewhere in between.

There was not much to see once we left Adelaide, a few farms, some plantations which made it even more difficult to do this at a snail pace.

We found the highlight of the trip Larry the Lobster in a little town called _____

The road to our final destination was littered with road kill, from koala's to kangaroos to all sorts of other unrecognisable animals. The scary bit was the red and black road markers that indicated where motorists had either been injured or killed on the road. Clearly this was a dangerous road. Soon we got confirmation of this, seemed a biker hit a kangaroo at speed, needless to say it wasn't very pretty.

Fortunately we got to Mount Gambia safely and then had quite a time trying to find our accommodation for the night simply called the Jail. The now backpackers used to be the towns jail not to many years ago. When we did find it we were in two minds of whether to run to rough it. We decided to be brave.

IMH: As we lay/sat on our bed after dinner, Ryan typing some text for our travel blog while I'm reading, having a glass of lovely Barossa Shiraz, I can't help but think how terrible it must be to be confined to a 2 x 3 m cell - I'm feeling clusterphobic. We have light electricity, a heater, laptop, music and wine ... what do inmates have? Must be horrible! Got a glimpse of it now and I would not wish it upon my enemies, even with our added luxuries.
