Our itinerary is pretty much fixed as we had to apply for visas in advance for most countries (the joys of a South African passport).
The sequence of our travels (refer to the attached pictures for more details):
1. Australia - 44 days
2.New Zealand - 25 days
3. South East Asia (Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam) - 36 days
4. Far East (Japan, South Korea, China) - 36 days
5. Russia (Trans-Siberian Express) - 19 Days
6. Rest of Europe - 68 days
7. UK - 3 days
8. Canada - 13 days http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Toronto,+Toronto,+Ontario,+Canada&daddr=Niagara+Falls,+Niagara,+Ontario,+Canada+to:Kingston+to:Montreal+to:ville+de+mont-tremblant+to:Quebec+city+to:tadoussac+to:montreal&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&sll=44.94303,-75.524365&sspn=4.129005,9.84375&ie=UTF8&z=6
9. USA, Cayman Islands and Cuba - 40 days
10.South America - 114 days
Our objective in selecting the places to visit and the duration to spend there was to visit the places we most probably would not visit again when we're older or which will be difficult to travel with children.
