Second stop, Langebaan.

RH: Langebaan is a little town 120km north of Cape Town where I lived for a few years. During those years I as some wonderful times and met some fantastic friends so I stop in my old home town was mandatory. Most importantly we were in Langebaan to see Nigel.

Nigel and I go way back and the first time we met was at the annual Langebaan Raft race. Together with a few work colleagues and friends we entered our 1st race where the rules were pretty simple, build anything that floats, surprisingly we decimated all the other competitors. Nigel and I first met when I went up to Nigel and wanted to trade him 6 Red Bull's (our prize) for a few beers (their prize), he thought this was a great trade (and wondered if I was perhaps also Irish) and so the friendship began. True to his Irish nature he was always a friendly punter that I could always rely on and often look back with fond memories on the good times we had in Langebaan. Cheers Nig!

Our first port of call in Langebaan was Pearly's on the beach. Situated right on the Langebaan lagoon they have a wonderful view of the lagoon where you can lazily spend the afternoon watching the action with a beer in hand. One of my favourite meal at Pearly's was the Lisa Special, add a Windhoek Lager, a dash of Lea & Perrins and you can't beat it, (well unless you add pineapple & Pepperdews and call it the Ryan special).

Later that evening we stopped off at another old favourite, Froggy's. Without a doubt this is the best restaurant in Langebaan and the food never disappoints. Top curries and succulent steaks, I have many mouth watering memories of dinners and parties that were held at Froggy's. We could also always rely on Froggy (yip, that's his name) to tell us a few interesting stories about his days in Cape Town, Barrydale (of all places)and Thailand, and always patiently sit by and wait while we drank all his Jägermeister stock. Inge-Marie and I also go to meet some new friends, namely Nigel's wonderful new lady, Marina, as well as her brother, Adrian and his wife Haley (thank your dad once again for letting me rent his awesome house, long story...). Thanks for all who could join us for the evening especially Greg and Tracy for driving all the way from Veldrif. Rob, hope you were not in too much trouble?

To top it all off we made a quick stop off at Hippo's, Nigel's favorite wattering hole for a ABF. Great seeing you again Andrew.
