Hello from Brazil!!!

We crossed the boarder yesterday after spending a few days on the Argintinian side of Iguacu Falls. We spent a whole day at the falls with the highlight being a speed boat ride under the falls. I have so many water fall pictures so be prepared... After crossing the boarder yesterday, we visited the Itaipu hydroelectric dam, the largest in the world and an ecological masterpiece (or so they want you to believe). After a quick trip to the bank to fill our pockets with Brazilian Reals, we made a second trip to Iguacu Falls, this time on the Brazilian side for a better view. I bought a book which has lots of overhead pictures to give you all some perspective of how big these falls actually are. My lunch from yesterday did not sit well and left it on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. We spent the night last night on the bus travelling from the falls to the business city of Curitiba. I slept the whole way and am feeling much better today. We are currently in the nicest hotel of the trip with hardwood floors and a kitchenette, two tvīs so that I donīt have to watch Ginaīs makeover shows. We were planning on going to a soccer game tomorrow in Sao Paulo but that has been cancelled due to rioting at the last game played at the stadium (Games have been banned for 120 days due to the riots!!!!). I am disappointed as I was really looking forward to going to a match down here. There is not much to do in Curitiba except expensive shopping. Brazil is very expensive in comparison to Uruguay and Argentina where we could get a liter of beer for $3US. On the topic of beer, Pilsen from Uruguay is the best beer we have had so far, similar to Canadian. The beer in Argentina is much lighter and I still havenīt tried the Brazilian beer. Tomorrow as mentioned we are off to Sao Paulo at 9am.
