We were up early to drive back to Cairns and returned the rental car, not sure if we are going to get charged for the flat tire or not. We checked in for our flight then found a quiet spot in the airport to finish a couple of beers we had left over from the boat trip and some of our snacks. We also had to spend what little cash we had left prior to boarding our flight. We were able to get down to having 35 cents left over after buying snacks for the plane and a treat for the dogsitters to whom we are forever thankful. The Air New Zealand plane was very nice with in seat entertainment, comfortable chairs and excellent service. It made the time go by so quickly. I listened to music and played some games while Gina watched a couple movies. Once we landed we picked up our rental car and headed into town to find our hotel. The travel agent gave us a GPS for NZ so getting around is a little less exciting than using the crappy maps the rental companies give you and small map clippings off google earth. We got checked in and headed downtown for supper. It was pretty busy with it being Friday night and with the world triathlon championships in town but we found an Italian restaurant on the harbour front and had supper. It was sort of weird being back in a big city again after being in fairly quiet places for the past two weeks and I can't wait to be out again soon.
